Absorption of Vocational High Schools Department of Hospitality in the Field of Housekeeping Fresh Graduates at Four Star Hotels in the City of Bukittinggi


 The aim of this study is to determine whether fresh graduates vocational higher education who major in hospitality need opportunities work four-star hotels Bukittinggi, (2) determining the competence workforce for SMK majoring Hospitality be accepted into Bukittinggi City as workers, (3) absorption rate Bukittinggi. research used qualitative approach using Exploration method. This was conducted at Grand Rocky Hotel and Novotel Hotel, which are specialized housekeeping. number focuses on researched will grouped only employees related Recruitment Housekeeping Departmen HR Manager Executive Housekeeper. results showed that based their experience recruiting prospective employees, it found were less diligent, honest disciplined, evidenced by mediocre quality work, arriving late leaving early, if given responsibility carry out tasks frequently, so not running well time. Based interviews, observations data documentation, an employee housekeeping must (1) behavior speech, admit mistakes made able communicate well, seriously, taking high initiative, discipline responsible. Thus, students basically have many job opportunities, but successful depend performance during internship period approximately 4-6 months. Moreover, teachers instill a honest, disciplined attitude learning process because ability enough secure job.
